Take precautions during Arctic weather

Those miserable temperatures are gonna linger.

An extreme Arctic blast is forecast to descend on our region Thursday through Saturday, producing very cold temperatures and dangerously low wind chills, according to Steve Smith, Emergency Management, UHS.

Wind chills for Thursday night into Friday morning could reach as low as 19 degrees below zero, Steve has reported.

Wind chills for Friday night into Saturday morning could reach as low as -24 degrees.

Wind chill advisories have been issued for our area through Saturday afternoon.

When winter temperatures drop significantly below normal, staying warm and safe can become a challenge.

Exposure to cold temperatures, whether indoors or out, can cause other serious or life-threatening health problems.

To keep yourself and your family safe, you should know how to prevent cold-related health problems and what to do if a cold-weather health emergency arises.
