Hypertension medication to be Mended Hearts topic

In observance of Heart Month, the use of medications to treat high blood pressure and heart disease will be the topic at the February meeting of the Mended Hearts support group at UHS.

Rebecca Harris, a pharmacy intern with UHS, will discuss "Hypertension Medicines and Heart Disease" on Monday, Feb. 26, at the UHS Heart & Vascular Institute on Hudson Street in Johnson City.

A refreshment time will begin at 6:30 p.m., with Ms. Harris's presentation starting at 7.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

The institute is near UHS Wilson Medical Center, in the space formerly occupied by Cardiology Associates; enter the building from the Hudson Street side, take the elevator to the second floor, enter the office and proceed left to the waiting room.

Advance registration is not required.  If you have questions, call 785-3019.

Mended Hearts offers hope and education to patients regarding cardiovascular health, empowering them as they manage heart-healthy lifestyles. Free public meetings of the group are held on a regular basis at UHS.
