Free UHS Diabetes Health Fair

The UHS Diabetes and Endocrinology Center will hold a health fair on Thursday, November 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at their offices 93 Pennsylvania Avenue, Binghamton.

Diabetes Educators and information on diabetes management, self-care and diabetes prevention will be available. Vendors from glucose monitor and insulin pump companies will be available to discuss the newest devices and technology available for diabetes care. Information from the American Diabetes Association will also be available.

This is a free Health Fair. No registration is necessary. Call 763-6092 for more information.

November is National Diabetes Month. Diabetes affects millions of people nationally and is estimated to afflict over 25,000 people in Broome County alone. One third of them have not yet been diagnosed. Approximately 300 deaths are caused by diabetes each year in our community, plus numerous occurrences of related blindness and amputations. Educating patients with diabetes in the management of this chronic disease will help to decrease these risks.

This event is offered by the UHS Diabetes Center and the UHS Stay Healthy Center
