1% or Less

Do you routinely use whole or 2% milk?

Did you know that you could cut your intake of fat considerably by switching to non-fat or 1% milk and not lose any of the taste?

The milk challenge encourages participants to sample the various fat-levels of milk and compare without knowing which milk they are sampling at the time. Rarely do individuals detect a difference but your heart and your arteries are certainly aware of the difference in fat.

This challenge has been supported by United Health Services in schools and other locations around Broome County. Through this initiative, a local milk supplier has advised that the sale of 1% milk has increased substantially locally, while the sale of whole milk has decreased.
