Leading U.S. hospital inspector names UHS Hospitals only 'Top Performer' in region
UHS Hospitals has been named the only "Top Performer on
Key Quality Measures" in the Southern Tier by The Joint Commission,
America's leading accreditor of hospitals and healthcare organizations.
Joint Commission on Oct. 31 recognized UHS Hospitals for outstanding
performance in using evidence-based clinical processes that are known to
improve care for patients with certain types of conditions and needs.

UHS has received a number of other recognitions recently for the quality and consistency of its care.
American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement
Program recently honored UHS as one of 37 ACS NSQIP-participating
hospitals that have achieved meritorious outcomes for surgical patient
care, and the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery has
designated UHS Hospitals a center of excellence in women's healthcare.
this year the national news magazine U.S. News & World Report named
UHS among the "Best Hospitals" in the country, and the American Heart
Association and American Stroke Association presented UHS Wilson Medical
Center with a Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.
Hospitals, which includes UHS Wilson and UHS Binghamton General
Hospital, is a designated trauma, stroke and chest pain center, home to
the CyberKnife Center of New York, and a leading referral center for
heart, cancer, neurosurgical and other major medical specialties.
