Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation Campaign Goal
The UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation has
announced that Michael J. Migliore, registered pharmacist and resident
of Norwich, will chair this year’s fundraising campaign with the goal of
exceeding last year’s mark of $130,000.

Migliore has learned
firsthand the value and high quality of our local hospital. “A few years
ago, I slipped on some ice and ended up in the ER with a hip fracture,”
he reported. “After surgery, I spent some time in the hospital and
experienced it from a patient’s perspective. They have a very dedicated
and skilled staff and I always felt assured that I was in good hands.”
When the Foundation was looking for a new campaign chair, Migliore was
the first to raise his hand. “It’s an honor to serve the Foundation and
the hospital in this role,” he said. Over the years, money raised by the
Foundation has been used to renovate the facility and upgrade
equipment. Most recently, the hospital’s Foundation provided a gift of
$80,000 toward the purchase of ultrasound equipment in the Heart Care
Center/Cardiology practice. Other gifts have been used toward the
renovation of the Newton Avenue site, a handicapped-accessible vehicle
for long-term care residents and equipment for the OR. “It’s reassuring
to know that the operating room has up-to-date technology. If you or a
family member has ever had an emergency surgery, you know what I’m
talking about,” he added.
Migliore encourages everyone to
participate in this year’s campaign. “The hospital was there when I
needed them. They are well-trained and ready 24 hours-a-day, every day,
to take care of us – along with local, county and state first responders
