Friday, August 12, 2011 - UHS to open new Main Street career center in Johnson City

People thinking about joining the UHS healthcare system will be able to do so in one convenient location when a new UHS Human Resources and Physician Services building opens on Monday, Aug. 15, in Johnson City.

The center, at 227 Main St. in the heart of downtown, is a modern, aesthetically pleasing first stop for job applicants and prospective members of the UHS medical staff.

The building, which will serve as the new home of the UHS Employment, Organizational Development and Physician Services departments, is easily
recognizable with its green UHS awning and logo.

In addition to the departmental offices, the 10,000-square-foot center also will feature two computer training rooms for UHS staff.

The building is designed to make a positive, professional first impression to potential new employees and medical staff members, to free up space at UHS Wilson Medical Center for clinical use, to provide efficient and pleasant training areas, and to affirm UHS’ commitment to downtown Johnson City revitalization.

Visitor parking will be available behind the center.

About 20 UHS employees will work in the new building.

Telephone and fax numbers for the relocated departments and staff will remain the same, and signs in the former Employment area at UHS Wilson will direct applicants to the new location.

UHS is a locally owned, not-for-profit, 916-bed hospital and health care system serving the Greater Binghamton region. Founded in 1981, UHS provides a full range of medical, surgical, rehabilitative and long-term care services from more than 40 locations around New York’s Southern Tier. The organization consists of UHS Wilson Medical Center, UHS Binghamton General Hospital, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital, UHS Senior Living at Ideal and UHS Home Care, and is affiliated with the UHS Medical Group and the UHS Foundation.
