Osteopathic Medicine at Wilson Medical Center

Few teaching hospitals embrace and support the principles of Osteopathic Medicine as well as Wilson Medical Center.  Here, you will be encouraged to maintain your identity as an Osteopathic physician and develop the skills that make your training unique:

  • Multiple weekly OMT clinics
  • OMM lectures every week
  • OMM inpatient service
  • NYS Licensed Osteopathic residents meeting academic requirement are given the opportunity to moonlight in the OMT clinic in their second and third years of residency
  • Academic appointment with the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM)
  • Our Family Medicine and Internal Medicine programs are dually accredited by both the AOA and the ACGME, so you can become boarded by both the AOA and ABFM or ABIM.

Rotations for Osteopathic Students

Wilson Medical Center offers an outstanding setting for Osteopathic students to complete their core or elective rotations.  As a member of the NYCOMEC OPTI, we are well positioned to provide you an environment in which you can get the most out of your educational experience.  Our commitment to helping you enhance your Osteopathic skills makes us an excellent site to gain a complete, well-rounded clinical rotation.

Students Rotations

At Wilson Medical Center, we are as committed to undergraduate medical education as we are to our residency programs.  Medical students are not thrown the scutwork they receive at many hospitals. They are given support and encouragement from attendings who recognize the importance of hands-on learning.  To schedule your next rotation at Wilson Medical Center, contact Julie Gunster, Student Coordinator at (607) 763-6042.
