Chris Knerl, MS, ATC

Biography

Chris Knerl is the Human Performance Specialist for the UHS Performance Academy. Chris is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and Exercise Physiologist with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in Education and Human Sciences and a master’s degree from the University of West Florida in Exercise Science. Prior to joining the UHS Sports Medicine team, Chris spent 8 years working for the United States Special Operations Command where he developed and implemented a Human Performance Program that provided physical training and rehabilitation for some of the worlds most elite military forces. Not only has Chris used his extensive knowledge of the human body to train athletes and soldiers, he himself is an athlete. Chris is a competitive triathlete, cyclist, and runner. He recently qualified and competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Austria.
