Weight Loss Surgery & Binghamton Bariatric Program Team

Our Weight Loss surgery and bariatrics team includes the surgical staff of Dr. Christian Tvetenstrand, Dr. Anishur Rahman, and Dr. Peter Ojo. These professionals work closely with a licensed clinical social worker, registered dietician, nurses, and other quality support staff all to create a comprehensive program of care.

Types of Surgery

Our program offers three weight loss procedures:  Laparoscopic Gastric Banding, Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, and Laparoscopic Gastric Sleeve. All of our surgeons are specially trained in advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques, which always provides for a quicker recovery.

Benefits of Weight Loss Surgery

As we are all aware, sustained weight loss is a formidable challenge for morbidly obese patients. However research has shown, with surgical assistance, patients typically lose excess weight more quickly in the first year than with diet alone. Even better problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, severe arthritis and/or depression are remedied significantly.
