Cancer Surgery

You and your doctor may decide surgery is the best course of action to treat your cancer. Trust the experienced doctors and advanced technology at UHS to help you get well.

Surgical Oncology at UHS

The sophisticated procedures you’ll find at UHS can help you get on the path to recovery after a cancer diagnosis.

Here, you may be able to choose a minimally invasive surgery that can help reduce your pain, scarring and recovery time. One such procedure is radiofrequency ablation, which uses a thin, flexible tube called a catheter to deliver heat and energy directly to cancer cells to destroy them.

No matter the type of surgery or treatment, your cancer care team is committed to helping you heal.

Breast Surgery & Reconstruction

Your breast cancer care team will help you choose the best treatment plan for you. Depending on your condition, your doctor may recommend one of the following breast cancer surgery procedures:

  • Lumpectomy
  • Mastectomy
  • Nipple-sparing mastectomy
  • Reconstructive surgery

At the UHS Breast Center, you can even benefit from the extensive training and expertise of the area’s only fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, Colleen O'Kelly Priddy, MD.
