All of our
counselors are master's-prepared mental health
professionals who also have a special understanding of the problems faced by employees
today, and how those problems can affect personal satisfaction and productivity at home
and at work. Each counselor develops a treatment or service plan for each client that is
tailored to that client's specific needs and issues. This treatment plan serves as the
basis for tracking the employee client's use of services and monitors his or her progress
toward achieving specific outcomes.
The EAP assigns staff counselors based on expertise and availability. Although all
counselors have competencies within the overall realm of mental health and human services,
individual counselors develop specialized expertise that makes them most helpful to
specific clients. Counselors are assigned based on the problem presented. All counselors
receive specialized training in solution-focused, brief therapy.
Counselors have also
received training in the area of chemical dependency and rehabilitation.
Our counselors have completed an accredited graduate curriculum in a human services area
and are appropriately licensed and credentialed in their state of operation. Additionally,
it is required that each counselor must have completed a minimum of two years of
post-graduate, clinically supervised experience.
