HIV care can be complicated, but we can help you do well in dealing with this chronic disease.
The Binghamton AIDS / HIV team, listed below, will help you get everything you need in place before your first visit with a provider. Please call them if you are coming to our office as a new patient.
If you are newly diagnosed, it is important to have blood tests that help us know the status of your immune system and also how active the virus is. We also need to check other routine blood tests. The team will help you get these blood tests before your first meeting with a provider.
If you have been getting care for HIV from another provider we will need copies of those medical records; please meet with the team so we can get your consent to have those sent, and also so we can order updated tests if needed.
We have an excellent mental health team to help you deal with the stress of living with HIV.
Working with them is of course voluntary, but we hope you will let us introduce you to their services as well.
