Golf classic marks 20 years 'Fore' women

The UHS Foundation will hold the 20th annual Women Fore Women Captain & Crew Golf Classic on Sunday, Sept. 25, at Traditions at the Glen Resort and Hotel in Johnson City.

Sign-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start to follow at 10.

With more than 100 women golfers expected to participate, the day will include breakfast, a mimosa-and-bloody-mary bar, 18 holes of golf, a luncheon reception and an awards ceremony.

The mission of Women Fore Women is to generate funds to support education, prevention, early detection and treatment in the battle against breast cancer and related women’s health issues.

Over the years, the tournament has raised more than $800,000.

"Those who have supported this event since its inception two decades ago have made a tremendous impact on the lives of thousands of women in the community," said Cory Jacobs, executive director of the Foundation. "Proceeds have funded many outstanding renovations and equipment additions at UHS facilities."
