2016 Mash Camp a success

UHS Delaware Valley Hospital in conjunction with Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center sponsored a Mash Camp for area students on October 25th & 26th at the hospital’s main campus in Walton. Students from 7 area schools attended including Walton, Downsville, Roscoe, Delhi, Hancock, Sidney and Andes.

Eighteen students had the opportunity to visit many departments within the hospital and have hands on experiences on the Medical Unit, and in Ambulatory Services, the Emergency Department, the Primary Care Center, the imaging department, laboratory, cardiopulmonary services, outpatient pharmacy and the physical rehabilitation center. “Each year the kids seem to have a wonderful time and learn a lot about the various positions in healthcare,” stated Cindy Gardepe, UHS Delaware Valley Hospital Director, Human Resources and the coordinator of the camp. “Our staff also enjoys working with the kids and answering their questions. They try to create as many hands on experiences as possible.” Mash Camp is held annually during October at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital.
