Jacobs is new executive director of UHS Foundation

Cory S. Jacobs has been named executive director of the UHS Foundation.

JacobsShe succeeds Betsy Pietriyk, who has retired after 20 years in the executive director post.

"Cory brings to our Foundation 16 years in fund development and expertise in the management of gifts and grants at not-for-profit and educational organizations in our region," said Gary VanNostrand, chair of the UHS Foundation Board of Trustees. "Following a nationwide search for Betsy's successor, we were very pleased to find an exceptional person like Cory right here in our own community."

Said Matthew J. Salanger, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of UHS, "Cory has an impressive track record in fundraising, and shares with UHS a vision for improving the health and well-being of our community. We're confident that she will enable the Foundation to achieve great success in providing financial support for UHS' caring mission."

Ms. Jacobs said: "I am thrilled to be joining the UHS family and look forward to working with a variety of constituencies to support our commitment to exceptional healthcare in this community."

Ms. Jacobs served most recently as vice president for Development at United Methodist Homes in the Southern Tier of New York and northeastern Pennsylvania.

Previously she was director of Development at the SUNY Broome Community College Foundation for six years, and later spent seven years with Binghamton University, the last three as senior director of Major Gifts.

An active member of the community, Ms. Jacobs serves on the Board of Directors of the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park and on the Women's Fund Leadership Committee of The Community Foundation for South Central New York.
