On Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11, members of the UHS Chenango Memorial staff and a few volunteers manned and operated the hospital sponsored food booth. For the ninth year, the Colorscape Chenango event was home to the white tents of UHS Chenango Memorial, with a variety of food choices and the hospital’s positive spirit. Serving Philly cheesesteaks and white natural skinned coney hot dogs, along with a variety of desserts and Mint Mojitos was a weekend long venture.

Garry Root, the UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital community relations representative responsible the hospitals yearly organized event said, “Just being downtown with the thousands of locals and out of town visitors really gives us an opportunity to share the hospital’s many positive messages and accomplishments. We continue to hear all weekend long how people love the hospital and are glad to see us at the event.”

The UHS logoed tents and chef coats have become a welcomed sight at the event and over the years many of those visiting search out the hospital’s tent for its tasty sandwiches and smiling faces. Colorscape event coordinators state that the event draws an average of 14,000 people and the nice weather this year was warm and inviting to all.

Garry Root commented “We have a great time every year and by Sunday night we are all exhausted. When we pick up and leave our bellies are full from taste testing our products and we have helped remind all those that walk by that the hospital is an important part of the community.”

Colorscape Chenango takes place in both parks in downtown Norwich every year the weekend after Labor Day, and host hundreds of craft vendors, entertainment and food booths.
