Enjoy good food and do a good deed

Note: Media coverage of UHS Empty Bowls is invited.

Visitors and staff at UHS Binghamton General Hospital and UHS Wilson Medical Center can enjoy a delicious meal and take home a handcrafted soup bowl, while at the same time helping those in our community who don't have enough to eat.

You can do it by attending the 12th annual "Empty Bowls" fundraiser at the hospitals.

Empty Bowls will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, April 6, on Picciano 4, at UHS Wilson, and Thursday, April 7, in the Russell Room at UHS Binghamton General.

You can show your support for hunger relief with a $25 donation. The event benefits the work of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier ($20) and the UHS Foundation's Stop Hunger Fund ($5).

At the event, you can select a beautiful handcrafted pottery bowl, an artistic reminder of your role in helping those in need. Then you can enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon featuring savory soups, salad, bread and penne pasta with sauce and sauteed chicken. You can top it all off with a tasty dessert.
