UHS Labs earn high marks from evaluators

The Laboratory Services Department at UHS Wilson and UHS Binghamton General has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists, based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of CAP's accreditation programs.

"During this process, inspectors examine the Lab's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years," said Jagmohan Sidhu, MD, medical director of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services at UHS Hospitals. "We are very pleased with our accreditation, as it signifies that we are committed to the highest standards of care for all Laboratory patients."

During their visit, CAP evaluators examined facilities, equipment, qualifications of staff, the safety program and record, and overall management of laboratory services. The UHS Hospitals Labs are among 7,600 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.
