Hospital Week focuses on 'Miracles'

Where "Miracles Happen Every Day," National Hospital Week 2015, celebrates hospitals and the men and women who support the health of their communities through dedication and compassionate care. It also recognizes the miracles they help to make happen on a day to day basis. It's an opportunity thank and honor all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, technicians, administrators, volunteers and others - for their invaluable contributions. The hospitals of the UHS system will be celebrating with a number of activities:

UHS Hospitals – Will hold employee barbeques at UHS Binghamton General will be held on Tuesday, May 12, andl at UHS Wilson will be served on Thursday, May 14.

UHS Chenango Memorial - On May 11, carnations and thank you cards will be given out to patients on their food trays. On May 12, activities will include facials and hand massages provided by BOCES Cosmetology and a pet photo contest (photos due to Karen Blackman by May 8). On May 13, there will be a "Blessing of the Hands" with Sister Rosie at noon, and bingo, featuring snow cones and popcorn, in the Basement Conference Room, at 6 p.m. On May 14, Physician Services will host a free Brooks Barbecue for employees; there will be a Lucky Duck Game for 25 cents, with proceeds benefiting Relay for Life. On May 15, look for an ice cream social, for $3, to benefit Relay, in the Bistro, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

UHS Delaware Valley - On May 11, strawberry shortcake will be served at 2 p.m. in the Dining Room. On May 12, there will be a Wellness Day snack at 2 in the Dining Room. On May 13, look for punch and cookies at 2 in the Dining Room. The employee luncheon will be held at noon, featuring Brooks Barbecue; drawings will include cash prizes. On May 15, there will be a breakfast bar from 8:30 to 10 a.m., with 50/50 drawings at 8:45.
