March of Dimes Kick-Off this Friday
Dr. Rajesh Davé, Binghamton March for Babies chair, and Christina James, Binghamton Family Teams chair, invite everyone interested in being involved in the annual Binghamton March for Babies to attend the kickoff Friday, March 15, 12:30 p.m. at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Picciano 4, rooms 5 A, B and C.
March for Babies, the March of Dimes largest fundraiser, helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies.
UHS Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Rajesh Davé, MD is this year’s chair for the Binghamton March for Babies event. With his neonatology background and as a top administrator at UHS, an organization very involved in caring for moms, their babies and persons who may suffer the lasting effects of premature births, Dr. Davé is committed to recruiting support and participation in the March for Babies by local businesses, individuals and families.
Christina James of Team Abigail James is this year’s Binghamton Family Teams chair. The James Family along with their team of family and friends walk each year to honor the memory of their daughter Abigail, who was stillborn in 2007. They participate and raise money so that others will not have to experience the pain and heartbreak of losing a child.
The Binghamton March for Babies event will be Sunday, May 5 at Otsiningo Park’s softball fields. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the 3 mile walk begins at 11 a.m.
Binghamton area residents can sign up to participate today at www.marchforbabies.org
and start a team with co-workers, family or friends. Dr. Davé stated, “This will be a fun event for a very worthwhile cause.”
