Thursday, January 03, 2013 - Information about Theft of Computer - Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Unit
On October 25, 2012, a personal computer was stolen from the Physical Therapy Department at United Health Services Hospitals’ Binghamton General Hospital facility.  The theft was reported to the Binghamton Police Department immediately upon its discovery.  The PC has not been recovered.

A software program to provide Physical Therapy inpatients copies of their physical therapy exercises apparently was the only item on the PC’s hard drive.

The PC’s information included some or all of the following:  patients’ full or partial names and the types of exercises that they were provided.  Examples of this information could include: – Jane Doe, J. Doe or JD with an exercise program labeled Total Hip.

We do not believe that this information places anyone at risk.

If you are a patient who was discharged from the Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Unit, please contact 1-888-383-7370.
