Dr. Bishow, new orthopedic specialist at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital
In response to increasing demand for orthopedic services, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital announces a new orthopedic physician at UHS Orthopedics Norwich. Dr. Harvey S. Bishow, a Fellow of American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, is now seeing patients in an office adjacent to the Emergency Room. This is a temporary office until December, when the new orthopedic office will open at 4 Newton Avenue.
According to Chris Kisacky, Vice President Operations, Dr. Bishow is an experienced, board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has practiced in both solo and group practices in several parts of the country, and he is looking forward to practicing in the Norwich area. She stated that Dr. Anthony Cicoria and Melissa Tworkowsky, RPA-C, who have been on UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital’s medical staff for many years, are continuing to practice at their Court Street location and at the hospital. “Employing Dr. Bishow adds to our capacity to serve the local orthopedic needs here at Chenango Memorial. Dr. Bishow will enable our medical staff to serve more patients with the high quality orthopedic services local residents expect and deserve.”
Dr. Bishow is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Denver Presbyterian Medical Center and returned to University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine for his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. While there, he was chief resident at Graduate Hospital and chief resident at Veterans Administration Hospital. He is a general orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in sports medicine and is a member of International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine and American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He has practiced in New York State, California, Pennsylvania, Alabama and Minnesota and comes to Norwich from a practice in Florida.
