Free diabetes information program in Sidney September 20
UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital will present a free diabetes information program at the Civic Center, 21 Liberty Street in Sidney, Thursday, September 20. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and presentations begin at 5:30. This is an annual event open to diabetics and their families and will feature the latest information about diabetes.
Participants will enjoy an opportunity to learn about many aspects of diabetes. The program features Norwich Internal Medicine specialist and moderator Dr. Karen Banks-Lindner; UHS Primary Care Sidney family physician Dr. Mark Barreto; UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital’s clinical nutrition manager Gayle Breuilly, RD, CDN, who will inform diabetics about how they can enjoy restaurant dining; a physician from Southern Tier Surgical Clinic, who will offer information about bariatric weight loss and diabetes; podiatrists Dr. Pat Warski and Dr. Jeffrey Todd, who will present on diabetes and foot care; and Pam Lyons, RN, CDE, who will speak about traveling with diabetes.
There will be light refreshments, raffles and giveaways and vendors who specialize in products for diabetics will be on hand with displays as well. Space is limited and reservations are required. Please call 337-4040 to reserve your space or register on line at www.uhs.net.
