March Diabetes Self-Management classes at UHS Chenango Memorial

If you recently have been diagnosed with diabetes, sign
up for the next series of classes on diabetes self-management at UHS
Chenango Memorial Hospital.
UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital’s diabetes
training center is a site for the UHS Diabetes Education and Management
Center, and this course is recognized by the American Diabetes
Association.
Increased awareness, education, early detection and
treatment of complications, and good self-management techniques can
prevent or reduce the severity of many of the health problems
associated with diabetes. Pam Lyons, RN, Certified Diabetic Educator,
will facilitate Chenango Memorial Hospital’s 3-class self management
course Monday, March 12, Thursday, March 15, and Thursday, March 22 , 2:00
- 5:00pm each day. Classes in April will be Monday, April 9,
Thursday, April 12 and Thursday, April 19, 9:00am to noon.
Participants
must call to register and schedule an individual assessment prior to
the first class. Please call (607) 337-4079 in advance to schedule the
assessment and register for the course. You must obtain a prescription
from your health care provider to attend the program and check with your
insurance carrier to ensure that diabetes education is covered. A
spouse or family member is invited to attend the classes with you at no
charge.
