Couples to be celebrated as Ideal sweethearts
When Dolores Zeleznik was a teen-age girl in Johnson City years ago, she used to whistle at a good-looking lad who would walk past her house.
She's been married to that young man, Ed Zeleznik, for 61 years, and next week the Zelezniks will be among 11 wedded couples who will enjoy a "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" sing-along at the place they now call home - UHS Senior Living at Ideal.
The event is being led by the Ideal Singers, a residents' choir, and is scheduled for just after Valentine's Day to celebrate the couples' lives together.
The sing-along will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Dining Room of the Residence Center on UHS Senior Living at Ideal campus, High Avenue in Endicott.
The Ideal Singers meet to sing every Monday morning and also perform at Ideal's holiday parties, family night dinners and memorial services.
