Through the United Health Services urology team you can be confident that you have access to quality care delivered in a compassionate and understanding way. We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary and urogenital tracts for both male and female patients. Our areas of expertise include urinary incontinence, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, prostate cancer, erectile dysfunction, infertility and more. We use diagnostic equipment that includes digital imaging technology which gives our physicians a clear and accurate look inside the urological system. Advanced technology available at Wilson Regional Medical Center allows us to provide our patients with the best possible treatment options. For example, in many cases, kidney stones can be eliminated without surgery and virtually without pain.
If urological surgery is necessary, we use surgical procedures that are minimally invasive to limit the risk to patients and to decrease the possibility of negative side effects. We are the only urology group in the region to treat prostate cancer using the CyberKnife, an advanced form of stereotactic radiosurgery that offers an alternative to traditional surgery and radiation therapy. CyberKnife treatment can be completed in as little as one week and there is less risk of incontinence or erectile dysfunction.
We know that it can sometimes be difficult and embarrassing to talk to your physician about problems that involve your urological system. We respect your feelings and we want to help. Together, we can sort through the facts to achieve an accurate diagnosis and to develop an individualized treatment plan that’s right for you!
Comprehensive Urology For Male and Female Patients
Urinary Incontinence
Incontinence is the involuntary release of urine. It can occur for many reasons and is more common in middle-age and elderly people. There are many effective treatments for incontinence. For more information about symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, call our office or click here.

UTIs are more common in women, but can also occur in men who have an enlarged prostate. The infection is typically treated with antibiotics. For symptoms and more information, call our office or click here.
Kidney Stones
Kidney stones cause severe pain in your abdomen, groin or back. Some smaller stones may pass without medical intervention. For larger stones, United Health Services offers lithotripsy therapy that uses ultrasound and electronic shockwaves to break down stones so they can easily pass through the urinary canal. For more information about kidney stones, call our office or click here.
Kidney Cancer
Symptoms of kidney cancer include blood in the urine, chronic pain in the side, unexplained weight loss, fatigue and a fever that doesn’t seem to be accompanied by other symptoms of infection. Treatment may include surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy. For more information, call our office or click here.
Bladder Cancer
Bladder cancer occurs most often in smokers and is more common in men than in women. The most common symptom is blood in the urine, as well as painful and frequent urination. Treatment may include surgery, radiation and/or chemotherapy. For more information, call our office or click here.

ED can be a sign of an underlying disease, such as diabetes, kidney disease or atherosclerosis. It can also be caused by certain medications. There are many effective drug therapies and other treatments for ED. Call our office for an appointment to discuss your situation.
Infertility
Our practice offers several treatments that can successfully reverse infertility caused by interruptions in the male reproductive system. Possible interventions include drug therapy and surgery. Call our office for an appointment to discuss your situation.
Sterilization
Vasectomy is the most effective sterilization method for men. It prevents sperm from traveling to the testes. Our physicians use minimally invasive techniques to complete a vasectomy. For more information, call our office or click here.
Andropause
As men age, their level of testosterone drops and they enter a phase of life called andropause – the male counterpart to the female menopause. Lower levels of testosterone can lead to loss of muscle mass, depression and decreased libido. Several treatments are available. Call our office for an appointment to discuss your situation.
