Our Radiation Oncology Department delivers comprehensive radiation oncology services designed to destroy or shrink tumor cells without damaging surrounding tissue. Radiation therapy may be used to cure a cancer, to keep it from spreading, or to help improve quality of life by relieving pain or other symptoms.
Radiation oncologists at United Health Services coordinate patient care with their subspecialty counterparts in surgical oncology, medical oncology, pathology and diagnostic radiology, as well as our radiation oncology team, which includes physicists, radiation therapists, oncology nurses and dosimetrists. These experts have access to special equipment and facilities to provide optimal patient care.
